What we believe

IN THIS WE BELIEVE.

Our principles are founded on the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, this is what we believe, preach and teach.

We accept as our only rule of faith and conduct the Holy Scriptures, contained in the 66 books of the Old and New Testament Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18-19. Therefore, no precept which is at variance with the Holy Scriptures can be imposed on the church as an article of faith or as a necessary requirement for salvation, and it is the duty of every Christian to act faithfully to its teachings. Joshua 1:8-18, 1 Timothy 4:1-3, 2 Peter 2:1-3. From this conviction we derive our Statement of Faith as follows:

I.- GOD.

We believe that God is the creator of all that exists, and the ruler of the whole universe. He is eternally existent in three personalities; God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And these three persons have the same equality or deity. Genesis 1:1; 26-27; 3:22; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Corinthians 13:14.

II.- JESUS CHRIST.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, born of the virgin Mary. He is equal to the Father. We also believe that he is the second person within the Holy Trinity, we believe that Jesus left his throne of glory to come to take the form of man, lived in this world a perfect and sinless life. He offered Himself in sacrifice for all the sins of mankind by dying on the cross. Three days after He died and was buried, He rose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven, after His resurrection, and took His rightful place at the Father's right hand again. Very soon he will return for his church. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4 Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Philippians 2:6-9.

III.-THE HOLY SPIRIT.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person within the Holy Trinity, that he has deity from God, that he existed before the foundation of the world, just as God and Christ. That he was sent into the world by God to guide the believer on the right path, he is also in the world to give conviction of sin to the believer, and to let the sinner know of their need for Jesus in their lives. He dwells in every Christian from the first moment they made their confession of faith. He provides the believer with power so that he can have an anointed life. Also, in order for the Christian to understand spiritual truths, the believer should seek to live a life under the power of the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:1; Galatians 5:25.

IV.- THE HOLY TRINITY.

We believe in the Holy Trinity, that is: God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. There are many people who are confused with this part of the doctrine, but it is because they do not know the scriptures. As it is

written in 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost" also in John 10:30 "I and the Father are one."

Revelation 5:6-7 - And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne.

Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

1) Father

2) Son

3) Holy Spirit

Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.

1) The Spirit

2) Of the Lord (God)

3) Upon me (Christ)

Matthew 3:16-17 - And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting upon him. And there was a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1) Christ was baptized

2) The Spirit descended upon him

3) There was a voice from heaven (The Father)

Isaiah 48:16 - Come near to me, hear this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; since that was done, I have been there; and now the Lord Jehovah and his Spirit have sent me.

1) The one who is speaking (Christ)

2) Jehovah the Lord (The Father)

3) And his Spirit (The Holy Spirit)

Isaiah 42:1 - Behold my servant, I will sustain him; my chosen one in whom my soul is well pleased; I have put my Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth justice to the nations.

1) The one who is speaking (Jehovah)

2) My servant (Christ)

3) My Spirit (The Holy Spirit)

Since the trinity consists of three persons in one God, we can now understand why God uses the verb "We" in the following verses.

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

Genesis 3:22 - And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is like one of us (Plural).

V.- THE BIBLE.

We believe that the Bible is undoubtedly the Word of God. Written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme source of truth for all believers. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any admixture of error whatsoever. We believe that the word of God is not for private interpretation. We believe that it was written for many purposes: a) To teach, b) To reprove, c) To correct, d) To instruct in righteousness, e) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

THE WORD OF GOD IS:

Living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword Hebrews 4:12.

A lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my paths Psalm 119:105.

Medicine to the soul and refreshment to the bones Proverbs 3:8.

They are life to those who find them Proverbs 4:22.

It is seed that yields fruit Luke 8:11.

It is everlasting and endures forever Matthew 24:35

It is clean and pure Psalm 12:6, 2 Timothy 3:16; 1:13;

2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6; 119:89; 105; 160, Proverbs 30:5.

VI.- MAN.

We believe that man was created from the dust of the ground, and that he was made in the image of God according to his likeness, created in the spiritual image of God, to be like God in character. Man was paramount in God's marvelous creation. Although man possesses a great will to do good, he is tainted by the inheritance of sin, therefore, every man is a sinner. We believe that every man is liable to fall into sin at any moment, we believe that every man can be regenerated by the power of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Man possesses an attitude of disobedience to the commandments of God. This disobedient attitude is what results in sin, and sin is what separates man from God. We also believe that God loves man, but hates man's sin. Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 8:3-6; 58:3; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23

VII.- SIN.

We believe that sin is what separates man from God. The Bible defines sin in this way: "Knowing to do good, and not doing it" James 4:17 This gives us to understand that it means to have a different opinion from God. The first sin originated in heaven when the angel Lucifer rebelled against his creator God.

Isaiah 14:12-14 But on earth man also participated in that sin. When he entered the world through a man whose name was Adam, and after him, every human being who is born is born with the sinful inheritance of Adam. Romans 5:12; Genesis 3:1-6 Isaiah 48:8; Romans 1:18-32; 1 John 3:4; Genesis 9:6; John 8:34.

VIII.- SALVATION.

We believe that salvation is God's gift to mankind. Man, left alone, can never produce salvation by his own merits, nor by his good works, nor by morality. We believe that salvation can only be acquired through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works so that no one can boast, salvation is the product of God's sovereign grace. Man is only responsible for believing, for having faith in what the word of God says concerning salvation in Jesus Christ. John 3:3, 7, 16; 14:6; 1:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 6:23; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26.

IX.- BAPTISM.

We believe that after a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, there is a need to be baptized. We believe that water baptism does not save but that it is the complement to salvation. We believe that the manner of baptism is as the Scripture says in Matthew 28:19 "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. By immersion, that is: The body must be completely in the water.

We are baptized into his death Romans 6:3

We are buried with him by baptism into death Romans 6:4

We are planted together with him in the likeness of his death Romans 6:5

Our old man is crucified with him Romans 6:6

The body of sin is destroyed Romans 6:6

Justified from sin Romans 6:7

Dead in Christ, to live with him Romans 6:8

The hope of rising with Christ Romans 6:9

Dead to sin, alive to God Romans 6:10-11

 X.- THE HOLY SUPPER.

The Lord's Supper is an ordinance instituted by Christ to be holy observed by his church and consists of the consecration of unleavened bread and wine (grape juice) followed by the act of eating these elements; it is an act of communion with Christ and with the brethren and is a commemoration of the Sacrifice of Christ and a proclamation of his death and second coming.

1 Corinthians 11:33-34, 10:16-17; Matthew 26:26-28.

XI.- THE CHURCH.

We believe that God has raised up a body of believers called "The Church of Christ" where he can be present to speak, instruct, enliven and encourage the faithful.

The Church has a double meaning:

1) Body of Christ

2) Congregation: (Building) a place where those who have been washed with the blood of the lamb congregate. A place where the Lord is worshipped. Where the Word of God is preached as it is. We believe that

 The Church has 2 purposes:

 1) In relation to the world, to Evangelize it.

Mark 16:15-16.

2) In relation to the community of believers, to edify them.

Ephesians 5:23,27; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:15.

XII.- THE GIFTS OF THE MINISTRY.

We believe in the fivefold anointing as found in the scriptures manifested through the five ministries which are: APOSTLE, PROPHET, EVANGELIST, PASTOR AND TEACHER which are still in force, and which are necessary to this day without the exception of any of them whose function is to prepare the church for its encounter with Christ and to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry and for the edification of the body of Christ.  Ephesians 4:8-16.

XIII.- THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT.

We believe in the Gifts given by the Holy Spirit to his church for the purpose of edifying it and that it is the Holy Spirit who distributes to each one in particular as he wills, and that these Gifts continue in force until our days without exception of any of them and that as long as the church is on this earth they are necessary for its growth and good functioning.    1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-5.

XIV.- THE LAYING ON OF HANDS.

We believe in the laying on of hands as a means that God uses to impart gifts and ministries, 1st Timothy 4:14, 2nd Timothy 1:6.  To transfer authority, 1 Kings 19:15-16, 1 Samuel 16:11-13. To pray for the sick and they receive healing. Mark 16:18, James 5:14.

XV.- SANCTIFICATION.

We believe that Sanctification is the will of God for all Christians; it is necessary to serve Him and without it no one will see the Lord. It is the work of the Holy Spirit giving the believer the necessary power to lead a holy life and it is the duty of the saved man to preserve his life in holiness until the end. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 5:23 2 Timothy 2:21, Hebrews 12:14. We believe that if a man is saved and falls into sin by his carelessness and dies in it he is eternally lost. Hebrews 3:12-13, 10:26-27, Revelation 2:21.

XVI.- ANGELS.

We believe that there is a spiritual world, where spiritual beings exist. Evil has spiritual beings called demons, and God has spiritual beings called Angels. The Greek name for Angels is "angelos" which means: Messenger. They are sent by God to serve the saints, to help them, and to feed them. They are also God's messengers. The first mention in the Bible of Angels (messengers) Genesis 19:1, then another angel (messenger) spoke to Hagar Genesis 21:17, then Jacob looks at the Angels going up and down Genesis 28:12, then wrestles with an angel Genesis 32:24-30. Balaam's donkey looks at an angel with his sword drawn Numbers 22:23, The angel of the LORD visited Gideon Judges 6:11 An angel feeds Elijah 1st Kings 19:5; The angel of the LORD spoke to Elijah 2nd Kings 1:3; The angel Gabriel announces the birth of John the Baptist Luke 1:13; The angel Gabriel announces the birth of Jesus Luke 1:26-33; Two angels announce the hope that the same Jesus who was ascending would one day return John 20:12-13.

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH.

We believe that Christ will come in the clouds and resurrect the righteous and transform the faithful believers who live then, to be caught up in the clouds and be with HIM in the Marriage of the Lamb and live and reign in his presence eternally. John 14:3, 1 Corinthians 15:21-23, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17.

XVIII.- THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.

We believe in the second coming of Christ to the earth personally with his saints, to execute judgment upon the nations and to establish his millennial kingdom. Matthew 24:30, 25:31-32, Acts 1:11, Jude 1:14-15, Revelation 1:7, 20:5-6.

XIX.- IN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.

We believe in the final resurrection, judgment and damnation of unrepentant sinners whose names are not found written in the book of life. Revelation 20:11-15

XX.- EL JUICIO.

Creemos en el juicio contra Satanás y sus ángeles, así como contra la bestia y el falso profeta los cuales serán lanzados al lago de fuego y azufre. Apocalipsis 20:10.
